Old Growth Pure Burl and/or Pure Burl & Curly Mixed

We have old growth redwood burl and curly available in slabs and panels, custom milled from 3" x 24" x 8' and down. Colors are completely unique to sawlogs salvaged from ocean proximity rivers. As you can see in the photo at left, redwood burl and curly creates a unique quality to this fine kitchen cabinetry.

We also have a solid, old growth redwood burl log, salvaged at a mill pond used in the 1800s, which is 5' diameter, 13' long, burled on entire surface. Sold whole—we have never seen another like it!

We will work with you, your architect and/or your builder to provide redwood in the dimensions you require.

Own a Piece of California State History All of our wood is clear all heart salvaged old growth redwood. This salvaged sunken redwood has ax-shaved ends, meaning it was cut before the late-1800s. OriginallyAx-shaved endharvested between 1850 and 1910, this redwood falls into three distinct time periods: 1) A V-shape or "beaver-cut" meant that a log was felled with an axe between 1850 and 1876, when the labor- and time-saving raker-tooth saw was invented. 2) Logs cut with a saw and dragged to the river by mules or oxen were first shaved or edged around their circumference to prevent snagging.
