This salvaged
sunken redwood has ax-shaved ends, meaning it was cut before the late-1800s.
The result of more than 100 years in the mineral-rich water of Big River, this
redwood is extraordinarily beautiful, with its tight grain and unusual
variegated shades of blond, burgundy and rich cinnamon brown. Redwood repels
termites and its ability to resist rot enables it to last for

Own a Piece of
California State History
 How old are trees in the
redwood forest? The oldest known redwood is more than 2,200 years old, located
in Humboldt Redwoods State Park, north of here along Highway 101. Though not as
old, our Big River salvaged redwoods have
been up to 7 feet in diameter.
We both
custom mill and select from air-dried lumber, all from the same eco-salvaged
first growth redwood source. All is quarter sawing lumber, air-dried, stickered
and stored correctly. Our redwood is professionally certified, specialty high
grade lumber grading.
We will
work with you, your architect and/or your builder to provide redwood in actual
dimensions of lumber; and siding in verticle, flat or mixed grain. We cut 1 x 6
T&G redwood lumber, etc. See tongue and groove

BREWERY GULCH INN
MENDOCINO, CALIFORNIA Opened in March,
2001, the AAA 4 Diamond Brewery Gulch Inn has won the American Historic Inns Best
Inn in California award (2004) and the iloveinns.com award as one of the ten
most romantic inns in the United States (2003).

you combine a love for old wood, the lure of California's Mendocino Coast, and

Gourmet Magazine (August, 2002)
said, "this stylish new hotel sets a SoHo standard for design..." Wine
Enthusiast (March, 2003) said that, partly due to this wood, the inn is "A
masterpiece of style and design." Sky Magazine (Delta Airlines) wrote in
June, 2003, that ...."wood connoisseur Ciancutti used the wood as lavish trim,
a worthy tribute to those ancient trees."
Altogether, forty-seven major publications have written up the
Brewery Gulch Inn, most referring to the beauty of this wood. In the 7,500
square foot building, we used only 11,000 board feet, for trim, for paneling,
for 8" x 8" posts, for every window and exterior door, and for 1/32" veneer for
vanities.
We hand-selected every stick used at Brewery Gulch Inn, just
as we will do for your project.

PRIVATE HOME, LAKE TAHOE, CALIFORNIA
We hand-selected every piece for
this remodeled home at Lake Tahoe, California.
The "beams" in each of the four large rooms are wrapped with book-matched 1" x
6" and 1" x 8"—again, hand-selected here—and the walls are panelled
and trimmed (crown and baseboards) with 1" x 6" and 1" x 8". The mantel pieces
and other accessories are 6" x 8" timbers. All four of these large rooms, and
the hallways and stairways—the entire house—were completed with
lumber from our redwood supply at a total cost, leaving our yard, for less than
$30,000
